Marcus Ericsson has misplaced his second place end within the Indianapolis 500 resulting from a technical violation, IndyCar introduced on Monday.
Put up-race checks revealed that the Andretti-entered automobiles of Ericsson and Kyle Kirkwood used “modified Power Administration System (EMS) covers and cover-to-A-arm mounting factors with unapproved spacers and components”.
This was in contravention of three completely different rules, together with Rule 14.3.1 which mandates that “all components offered by an Permitted Provider should be used as equipped with out modification except in any other case authorised by INDYCAR and acknowledged in these Guidelines or in replace bulletins.”
As such, Ericsson and Kirkwood have been relegated to thirty first and thirty second place respectively within the closing classification for the race, whereas IndyCar has been hit with a nice of $100,000 for every entry.
