The Miami Marlins are hiring Los Angeles first base coach Clayton McCullough as their new supervisor, per ESPN’s Alden González.

McCullough, who has spent the final 4 seasons on Dave Roberts’ workers in LA, succeeds Skip Schumaker in Miami.

McCullough, 44, spent the final 4 seasons in Los Angeles and can succeed Skip Schumaker in his new managerial function with the Marlins. Schumaker stepped down in September because the Marlins concluded a lowly 62-100 season.
The first base coach was linked to the opening spot in Miami for a number of weeks. McCullough is aware of Marlins assistant basic supervisor Gabe Kapler from their time within the ’ participant improvement division.
In 2021, McCullough took over because the Los Angeles first base coach for George Lombard. In 2019, McCullough served because the ’ area coordinator when there was hypothesis that he can be the following supervisor for the San Francisco Giants. Nevertheless, Kapler landed the function.
