Dubai Open: Emma Raducanu takes wild card, aims to halt losing steak

Emma Raducanu has entered the Dubai Tennis Championships fundamental draw after receiving a wild card in an try to finish the worst shedding streak of her profession.

The 2021 US Open champion crashed out of the Australian Open in January after a thrashing from the world No. 2 Iga Swiatek within the third spherical and has since did not document a win.

The 22-year-old suffered her third consecutive opening spherical defeat final week in Qatar, shedding in straight-sets to Ekaterina Alexandrova. She had been knocked out within the first spherical of the Singapore and Abu Dhabi Open within the weeks prior.

Raducanu will probably be joined by mentor Jane O’Donoghue and health coach Yutaka Nakamura in Dubai, though she remains to be and not using a coach since splitting with Nick Cavaday.

The Dubai Championship is a WTA 1000 occasion, which means Raducanu faces the prospect of one other powerful draw with the world’s prime 10 gamers all scheduled to play.

The principle draw begins on Sunday.
