Wang Ziying wins women’s wheelchair singles at Wimbledon

Wang Ziying of China gained her first Grand Slam title in ladies’s wheelchair singles by beating top-seeded Yui Kamiji of Japan 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday at Wimbledon.

Wang had misplaced eight of her earlier 9 matches towards Kamiji, who has 10 main titles in singles and was seeking to full a profession Grand Slam with a primary championship at Wimbledon.

However Wang transformed her fifth set level within the first set after a marathon sport that went to deuce 9 instances, after which clinched victory on her first match level when Kamiji netted a backhand.

Within the males’s wheelchair doubles ultimate, No. 2 seeds Martin De la Puente of Spain and Ruben Spaargaren of the Netherlands gained their first Wimbledon title by beating top-seeded British duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid 7-6 (1), 7-5.

Hewett and Reid have gained six Wimbledon doubles titles, together with the final two.
